Glanmire Roads Improvement Scheme Project Update
Works are ongoing in Glanmire with significant progress being made recently with the improved weather. Works at East Cliff Road are completed and the road was reopened following the installation of services, surfacing works and a new public lighting system was installed.
Along the Dunkettle Road the 450mm drainage pipes were installed, a section of the boundary wall was constructed and the remaining site clearance works have now been completed. In the coming weeks a new foul sewer, storm sewer and watermain will be installed along the Dunkettle Road and further sections of the boundary wall be constructed.
Within Glanmire Village a new boundary wall has been constructed to the business park whilst installation of numerous services has been completed in the past number of weeks. Over the coming weeks there will be significant changes, the new section of widened road will be kerbed and surfaced, traffic will be diverted over to the new section of road to allow further works to commence along the R639. Over the coming weeks there will be significant traffic management controls implemented on the R639 between Church Hill & Glanmire Bridge. it is advised that motorists should use alternative routes if possible.
