General Description
This project, carried out for Cork City Council, involved the installation of an engineered capping of existing cells, including gas and leachate collection, extension of the existing leachate lagoon on their working landfill at Kinsale Road, Cork.
Features
- Installation of 56,000 sq.m of gas and drainage collection geocomposites, gas control blankets, LLDPE liners & general geotextiles
- Installation of gas collection wells and HDPE gas collection and drainage pipelines
- Placing of 56,000 sq.m of low permeability subsoil capping
- Re-profiling the existing refuse cells
- Top soiling and grass seeding
- Construction of reed beds for polishing effluent
- General site and road works
